Do You Have Transportation?

Yes. We can provide door-to-door van service mornings and afternoons within a 12 mile radius from SciCore Academy. Students are currently picked up from West Windsor, East Windsor, Monroe, Millstone, Manalapan, and Allentown. The current fee is $425 per month round trip and $215 per month one way. There is a 25 % discount for two students and a 25 % discount for pick-up and drop-off within a 2 mile radius of the school.

Is Your School Accredited?

Yes, we are accredited by the prestigious Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. This provides quality assurance from an independent outside agency.

Into what colleges have your graduates been accepted?

SciCore Academy’s first full graduating class was in the spring of 2007. Our students have been accepted to Duke University, University of Chicago, Northwestern U., Bryn Mawr, Tulane, Washington & Lee, Emory University, Boston College, Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Boston University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Penn State, Drexel University Honors College, Drexel 6-year medical program, New Jersey Institute of Technology, University of Illinois, University of Maine, Rowan University, Loyola University, Syracuse University, University of Maryland, University of South Florida, Rutgers University, Cabrini College, Cedarville U., University of Delaware, Deans College, Quinnipiac University, and others.

How well do your middle school students do on standardized tests?

SciCore students take the California Achievement Test (Terra Nova) every year. The mean scores are in the 70-88 percentile range in all areas. Each year a significant number of elementary and middle school students are admitted to the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth by virtue of their high SAT scores.

What is your student/teacher ratio?

No more than 16 students are permitted in any given academic class. This enables optimal instruction and individual attention from the teacher. With a student body of nearly 100, we have 15 part-time and full-time teachers.

What are the extra-curricular activities?

Extracurricular clubs and activities vary from year to year, depending upon student interest. In the past, the following clubs were offered: literary club, newspaper, yearbook, Mock Trial, food science, drama, cooking, Science Olympiad, science video club, chess, music exchange, cross-country, soccer, chorus, and instrumental group.

What is unique about SciCore Academy?

SciCore is focused on academic pursuits. We want our students to be well-prepared for college and professional careers and not to be distracted from such goals. SciCore faculty bring special strength in the areas of science, art, drama and public speaking.. SciCore provides a well-rounded education, with much attention given to traditional core subjects and skills including writing, grammar, speaking with good diction and expression, advanced vocabulary, in-depth history, and reading comprehension of great literature. The social environment within SciCore is safe, supportive, and provides the right conditions for educational success. The pedagogical techniques enable teachers to provide continuous feedback to the students and personally guide their academic progress. Many courses have hands-on components, such as weekly science laboratory, chess, typing, language lab, programming & robotics, music, art, debating, and Shakespeare.
